GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STUDENTS SUPPORT SERVICES

 

 

Support services to IGNOU learners are provided both at the Regional Centre and also at various Study Centres / Special Study Centres / Programme Study Centres.

 

SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED AT THE REGIONAL CENTRE

 

 

Ø      issue of Student Identity Card, Duplicate I-Card, Fee Receipt, Bona-fide Certificate, Migration Certificate etc. to the existing learners.

 

Ø      extending all sorts of support to the learners in case of any academic problem.

 

Ø      change of Regional Centre, Study Centre, course, medium, address, name correction etc.

 

Ø      holding of Video-Conferencing session(s) at RC premises.

 

Ø      providing Library facility to existing learners.

 

Ø      evaluation of BCA / MCA Projects and conducting Viva-voce.

 

 

SUPPORT SERVICES PROVIDED AT STUDY CENTRE CENTRE / SPECIAL STUDY CENTRE/ PROGRAMME STUDY CENTRE

 

 

§         holding of subject/course-specific Counselling Sessions (both theory and practical) with the help of experienced Academic Counsellors drawn form the host institution where the Study Centre is located  or from other academic institutions in and around the Study Centre.

 

§         holding of Audio-Video sessions.

 

§         providing library facility to the existing learners.

 

§         holding of tele-conferencing sessions (at selected Study Centres only. At present tele-conferencing facilities are available at Study Centres :2805,Siliguri and 2808,Malda).

 

§         providing information related to University rules, regulations, procedures, examination etc.

 

§         collection and evaluation of assignment responses from the learners.

 

§         holding of University Term-End-Examination (TEE)  during June and December ( at selected Study Centres only).

 

§         providing Project related guidance to the learners.

 

§         extending all sorts of support to the learners in case of any academic problem.

 

OTHER ACTIVITIES OF STUDY CENTRE / SPECIAL STUDY CENTRE / PROGRAMME STUDY CENTRE

 

·         pre-admission guidance / counseling to prospective learners with regards to choice of Programme / courses / Study Centre.

 

·         identification of  academic Counsellors.

 

·         submission of administrative and academic reports / feedback to the Regional Centre.

 

·         sale of Student Handbook & Prospectus.

 

 

NOTE : In IGNOU, Library books are NOT issued to individual learners. During working hours of the Regional Centre / Study Centre, learners may visit the library and may refer to reference books etc.
